Comcast EPG ads

Comcast Comcast is now putting banner ads on their EPG. I noticed for the first time this weekend.

I'm not opposed to advertising in general. I think targeted ads are great actually. For example when I read Wired magazine I find myself looking at lots of ads.

But these Comcast EPG ads? Wow - they are so lame. They already charge an extra $10/month/box for the HD PVR and now they are making their clunky user interface even worse. I would be happy if they use the set top box data and figure out how to present relevant ads. But they're not.

Looks like lots of people were upset when they started this back in August. And other blogs are picking this up too.

C'mon Comcast, you can do better.
