T.W. Food

Our friend David who owns/runs Karma Coffee suggested that we check out T.W. Food

We had dinner there Saturday night and I'm so glad we did. It is now easily one of our favorite restaurants in Cambridge. It opened less than a month ago. The host Bronwyn is extremely knowledgeable and so friendly I thought I was back in the bay area. And the food is absolutely delicious. It's small place - about 10 tables. You can get a feel for the place by reading their story.

I highly recommend starting with the oyster shooters and also the avocado soup. You can't go wrong with any of the main dishes. For dessert we shared the sugar-spice poached pear, stuffed with cardamom mousse and creme anglaise.

I gotta go workout now :)

A little SF in Boston

One of the things I miss most about SF is the restaurants. Especially brunch.

And one of our favorite brunch spots in SF is Ella's. It is a few blocks from our old place in Pacific Heights.

Today we had brunch at Garden of Eden in the South End in Boston. They don't have the homemade bread like Ella's or the chicken hash but the South End is as close to SF as it gets and the brunch at GOE is really great. Excellent food, friendly service and walking around the SouthEnd is always fun.

Irish night out

My irish/italian wife was itching to hear live irish music. So last night we went to The Burren in Davis Square, ordered a few pints ofGuinness   and enjoyed some irish music. Lively crowd, happy music. It was really fun.

Afterwards we had a late dinner at a place next door called Martsa on Elm. The food was just okay (probably wouldn't recommend it) but 20 minutes into our meal Lauren noticed that we were the oldest people in the restaurant. Sobering.

Tastespotting

What do you get when you combine photos + food + blog aggregation. Tastespotting. This is a super idea.

People love great photos of food. On flickr there is actually a food porn group. And aggregating blogs for this category is smart.

I'd like to see flickr integration to make it easier to contribute. Or even better would be a feedburner feedflare link to Tastespotting.

Pizza night

We went out for pizza night last night. Girls had fun watching the pizza get made.
