Santo and I were playing around with Google's new Street View this afternoon.
It's amazing.
This Sunday night Lauren and I had dinner at Tartine in the west village in nyc. It was a beautiful night. The city was mellow and the food was great. And eating outside is just the best.
I didn't bring my camera but here is a photo of Tartine from Street View.(click image to see larger version) or here is the actual link
I can't wait to see what Street View mashups will come out first.
Local advertising is going to get really interesting.
Bijan, sorry to use blog comments to contact you but I wanted to double check that you received my email address (sent as a response to your direct message on Twitter). I haven't received the Spock invitation yet so I was thinking that my direct message to you might not have gone through.

The new feature is def. cool but some argue it violates privacy laws. While I don't believe that privacy in its traditional sense is being violated, I do believe that Google is taking advantage of people in an unfair way. For instance, shouldn't they have to obtain permission to broadcast someone's face for all the world to see?
cbs covered the story here:

If news channels and tv shows like Cops have to blur the faces of those who don't comply why not Google? Surely they are making a profit off of this new technology.
