I'm having a ton of fun with the camera on my new blackberry curve.
The resolution is nothing like my canon rebel xt or even our sd800is. But I always have my blackberry with me. (I'm writing this blog post on the Curve).
And while we are up at acadia national park and bar harbor this weekend I'm taking lots of photos with all of our cameras. I intentionally left my laptop at home. So the only one photos from our vacation on flickr at this moment are the ones from the blackberry curve. It a breeze to email those photos from the blackberry to my flickr account (see my flickr sidebar badge).
The blackberry Curve accepts microSD cards (up to 4gigs). And it has a mini usb connector. It would be super cool if I could connect my canon cameras to the blackberry, transfer the pix and then upload/email them to flickr.
Has anyone created such an app for the blackberry yet? It should be possible.
Maybe I'll put an ad on one of the software bidding sites if nothing exists yet.
This might work:
"You can even upload the photos directly to your Flickr account with Yahoo Go! right from the phone. "

Are you connected with a mobile Exchange server offering that would enable you to send a receive images and email from your Curve to your desk top to your camera? Take a look at http://www.123together.com. We use them and are happy with the service and the tech support to solve the kind of challenges you describe.

Previous comments are not addressing the main question - how can you transfer camera files to the blackberry? I need this capability as my 8820 does not have a camera. My camera doesn't have bluetooth either.

I would like to do this too. I frequently go on trips with lots of people, and lots of cameras. At the end of the trip I need an easy way of gathering everybodys pictures. Traditionally I use my laptop, but it would be nice to be able to use my BB since it's so much smaller.
Maybe somebody should build an BB app that supports PictBridge printing from the camera to the blackberry, using just the USB port. Most cameras have pictbridge these days I think.

Hi, I'm also interested in this capability. It has been awhile since the original post and the last comment, so thought I'd pose the question again -- has anyone found a solution to this yet? It seems that using the microSD card is the most straightforward, but it would be great if an app could handle it over the USB.

Have you looked at "Eye-Fi"? Looks like it might allow a way to connect a wireless-capable device (like a Blackberry) with a camera.

I suppose there's always the "low-tech" solution to take all your pictures onto an SD card, and then pop the SD card into your blackberry.

Same question here. My bb curve takes the little card and my canon dslr the bigger card so the card trick above doesn't work. Unless there is an adaptor for those little cards so you can put them into the camera. Can you do it with a cable?
